Atrioventricular Valvular Insufficiency
0.2 to 0.6 mg/kg/Dog Or 0.5 mg/kg daily in conjunction with other cardiac drugs
10 - 20 kg = 1 × 2.5 mg Twice daily
20 - 30 kg = 1 × 5 mg Twice daily

The three variations of PIMOCARD (2.5 mg, 5 mg, and 10 mg) are designed to provide accurate and flexible dosing for dogs of different weights and severities of cardiac conditions. Since Pimobendan dosage is weight-dependent, these multiple strengths ensure precise administration, avoiding under or overdosing. The chewable tablet format enhances palatability and ease of administration, making it convenient for pet owners. By offering multiple strengths, PIMOCARD provides a tailored approach to treating dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) and atrioventricular valvular insufficiency (AVVI), making it a superior choice for effective cardiac care in dogs of all sizes.
Pimobendan acts as both an inodilator and a phosphodiesterase (PDE-III) inhibitor, making it highly effective in managing congestive heart failure. It increases myocardial contractility without significantly raising oxygen consumption, ensuring the heart pumps efficiently while maintaining energy balance. Additionally, its vasodilatory effects reduce cardiac workload, allowing better circulation and oxygen delivery to vital organs.
With multiple strengths (2.5 mg, 5 mg, and 10 mg), PIMOCARD ensures customized dosing based on a dog’s weight and severity of the condition. Its chewable formulation enhances palatability and ensures easy administration, improving treatment adherence. By offering accurate dosing flexibility, PIMOCARD prevents overmedication risks and provides consistent therapeutic benefits, making it the ideal choice for long-term heart care.
Q
A
Pimocard is used for the treatment of congestive heart failure (CHF) in dogs caused by Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM) or Atrioventricular Valvular Insufficiency (AVVI). It helps improve heart function and prolongs survival.
Q
A
Pimocard works by strengthening the heart muscle and widening blood vessels, allowing the heart to pump more efficiently. This reduces strain on the heart and improves blood circulation.
Q
A
Yes, Pimocard is safe for long-term use under veterinary supervision. Regular check-ups are recommended to monitor the dog's heart health and adjust the dosage if needed.
